Welcome to Crosstown Prints!

Crosstown Prints LogoHi there! Welcome to Crosstown Prints and thanks for visiting our blog! We are so glad that you have found us and we would like to welcome you to the Crosstown Crew. At the time of writing this, our team is filled with anticipation and excitement as the launch of www.crosstownprints.com is only days away. Whether you’re reading this when our website goes live on 22/01/20 or years from now, (if so, please tell us that Covid-19 is a distant memory?) we want to thank you so much for checking us out and supporting what we do.

We are hoping that this will be the first of many more blog posts to come, which will keep you in the loop with our progress and even give you some helpful hints and inspiration when it comes to choosing and displaying our prints. Some things you can expect to find on here in the future are… Q&As with our artists, posts from guest writers, fun think pieces on the places and cities our prints depict and even tips on how to choose the best prints, sizes and frames in order create your ideal décor aesthetic. So be sure to watch this space and subscribe to our newsletter to get tasteful (we promise they won’t be super annoying) notifications of any new blog content, product launches or promotions.

But, for this very first blog entry we just want to let you know what we’re all about...

Who Are We?

First and foremost, we are a small, family-run business with a passion for artwork and the power it has to create shared connections and spark endless creativity. Crosstown prints was founded in January 2021 by brothers Mark & John with a mission to showcase unique & meaningful illustrations of your favorite cities and places, created by talented independent designers and artists from all over the world.

But, before Crosstown Prints was even an idea in our heads, there was Jam Art Factory. You may have already heard of Jam Art Factory, our Dublin-based Irish Art & Design company, which showcases the work of 50+ Irish born or based artists & makers. The Jam Fam has spent the last decade improving and expanding its roster of artists and range of work and has grown from 1 little shop to 2 shops, an online store (find it at www.jamartprints.com) and a studio space.

After ten years of perfecting our craft, we were ready to take a step into the unknown and try something new. Seeing the joy that the affordable, clever and inspiring designs we stock at Jam Art Factory, have brought our customers, encouraged us to embark on a new adventure and set up Crosstown Prints. Our goal is simple. To re-create the magic our Irish customers feel when they see a print of their favorite pub or the street they grew up on, on a global scale. We may be small but we have big dreams and we can't wait to share them with you!

 What do we do?

We specialise in selling high quality fine art prints of places that hold particular meaning to our customers. From that little coffee shop with your favourite bagel to the park where your partner got down on one knee and proposed, our mission will always be to commission and stock prints that bring a smile to your face and maybe even a memory to your wall.

In order to have amazing work, you need a team of innovative artists, who come from a broad range artistic backgrounds. We are so lucky to be launching Crosstown Prints with a select group of inaugural artists, who we know you are going to love! And the best news? As Crosstown Prints grows, so will our carefully curated network of independent artists. While we are launching with just New York themed prints, more cities and artists are soon to come...

Why shop with us?

With so many online shopping options today, we know that you have endless choices. So why choose us?

Well, to start with, we are a small business that supports other small businesses, which means that every one of your orders will make a BIG impact. So every purchase you make with us directly pays an independent artist, how cool!

Also, did we mention that our prints are gorgeous?  In fact, all of our prints are printed in-house by our trained staff using giclée printing methods and very high quality inks and paper. By handling the printing processes ourselves, we are able to oversee all facets of your order, from when you click that “Add to Cart” button to when we post out your print, giving you peace of mind about the status of your order.

We are also proud to say that 5% of all sales will go to one of our partner charities, based in the city that the print you purchased depicts. So if you buy an image of New York, your new piece of art has just made a small donation back into that city. (We are currently in the process of securing our first charity partnership for the city of New York and will announce the organisation as soon as we have cemented our relationship, but know that 5% all purchases made before that day will still be donated to our partner charity.)
