Oniric Omnia
Spanish artist and illustrator Oniric Omnia explores the many combinations of shape and colour found in geometric pattern making. Defining her style as a deep interest in sacred geometry, she has been fascinated with inner space and consciousness since childhood. Her work features flowing heliotropic colours, softly streaming through multidimensional dreamscapes. Using elements and architypes from occult sources, Oniric Omnia weaves the zodiac traditions with arcane symbolism to create deeply cryptic images. She invites us to look at the movements of astral bodies in the cosmos and consider their relationship to our inner lives.
For her Crosstown print, Oniric Omnia has chosen the much loved statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree as her central image of Madrid. Located at the Puerta del Sol, the 'Gate of the Sun', the illustration is emblazoned with a bright sun and and dappled stars over an arched portico. The city's famous bear is clothed in bright bands of kaleidoscopic colour, twinned his strawberry tree, as sailors in pleasure boats bob below him.
Her striking imagery combines the mysterious elements found in tarot deck illustration with the clean, balanced style of art deco lithographs.
